Content Management System (for all of the above)
CMS is accessed through an XML web service and updates both Flash and HTML components on the site. By using the XML based CMS, Kalahari is able change their site very quickly without restriction. o User roles were set up to allow multiple departments to change data- with the safety of an “administrator approval” function- that has an administrator review the content and “OK” it prior to going live. A restore function was also built- to back up content in case of emergencies.
Reservation System Integration
Built in a "Reserve a Room" function to the front-end site. Function communicated with existing Kalahari system to flawlessly make automatic reservations.
Front-End Design
Planned and Mapped by KMG; template constructed by top design firm from Spain (similar to Pixar in the United States).
Front-End Flash Scripting
Components built by one of the world’s best Flash developers (who is actually a beta tester for Macromedia). All videoloops and motion components were custom built for this project.
"Explore Kalahari" - Google Maps Program
Program that allows users to navigate around the resorts through a system much like Google Maps. Users can zoom in and out and- at any point on the custom designed map- users can click on a resort component (such as the FlowRider in the Waterpark) and find out what activities are scheduled for that day and directions to get to the location internally from the kiosk being used.
Kids Video Games
Custom built online games for kids of multiple ages. Games hold high scores.
